“I’ve been meaning to…”

This expression is used when a person has had a plan to do something, but, even though quite a long time has passed, he/she still hasn’t done it.

Examples: 例

   “Have you met John recently?”
   “No, I haven’t. I’ve been meaning to text him.”

   “Your desk is a mess!”
   “Yes, I’ve been meaning to tidy it up.”
